I was not dissapointed! My mom and I found lots of cute stuff for Will. This is amazing by itself as cute baby boy clothes are harder to find that cute little girl clothes. Here are a couple photos of my favorite purchase–a tan corduroy monkey jacket! I mean, how  adorable is the little monkey holding the banana with his tail on the back? And even the cuffs and collar of the jacket have little monkey details!  Of course, Will won’t be able to wear it until the fall, but I know he is going to love it. And at only $18, I love it, too!

Plus, with 2 inside doggies, a baby AND a husband, I do a LOT of laundry. I love that I could just take the duvet cover off the bed and toss it into the wash. That just makes my life a lot simpler AND cleaner.

A really great dog and friend…

When I first started this company, I knew my time with Scout was coming to an end. He had just turned 11 and was starting to slow down a bit. He couldn’t take long walks anymore and it was harder for him to get up the stairs. Scout weighed 80 pounds in his prime, so he is a pretty good size dog. Since most big dogs don’t live beyond 10-12 years, I felt pretty lucky to have him around. But in January 2009, he started losing weight and was coughing a lot. I took him to my wonderful vet and Dr. Root gave me the bad news: heart failure. Scout’s heart had enlarged so much that it was literally the size of a horse’s heart. In fact, Dr. Root said that it was the biggest heart he had ever seen on a dog. He said that we probably only had 3-6 months but that he couldn’t promise me anything beyond that day.

So, that was almost 6 months ago and he’s still with us. He has lost a lot of weight and can’t go for walks anymore. He has stopped eating dry dog food and has to be spoon fed wet dog food. However, he still seems content but sleeps a lot. I am still waiting for him to “tell” me when he is ready to go. I know it will be soon, but I can’t even bear the thought of waking up without him.

I know many of my customers understand the pain that I am going through. So many of you have placed orders with me for pendants of pets you have recently lost. Isn’t it so painful when you realize time is up? That there is nothing else you can do? For some of you, I know the loss of your pet was sudden. I don’t know if that is better or worse…
